healthy spirituality header photoJean Wise and her Healthy Spirituality blog are in today’s Spotlight.

God brought Jean and me together when we both attended the 2007 Florida Christian Writers Conference for the first time. She was sitting in the large, and mainly empty, auditorium waiting for the first session to begin. I wandered in and sat in the row ahead of her, turned around and said “hi.”

Turns out she lived in Ohio–and that’s where I grew up.

The next year and the next and the next we were conference roomies. We email along with our other Kindred Heart critique writing friends (made at that same 2007 conference) practically every day.

I’m excited to put the Blog Spotlight on Jean and Healthy Spirituality.

Major theme: Christian spiritual growth

My most popular post: Advent – 15 Inspirational Quotes about this Season of Anticipation

My favorite posts (which all happen to be about my grandkids):

My life verse is:

Let us keep our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith – Hebrews 12:2

My verse for 2015 is:

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:4

photoI blog because my fellow writers forced me into it. They were all doing it and dragged me into the process yelling and screaming. I was not thrilled to add something else to my to-do list. BUT I still blog because it is a wonderful way to share our faith, to find companions on our spiritual walks, to grow and learn how to express our beliefs and an opportunity to write and discover my writing voice.

When I’m not blogging, I’m writing for our local newspaper, working at our church and working on my other writing projects. Ok sometimes too often I get distracted by Facebook and researching scurrying down rabbit trails on the Internet.

I have a passion for learning different spiritual practices that open our hearts to hear and know God in new ways, then sharing them with others so they too can grow closer to God.

I want to be remembered for making a difference in the lives of my family and friends.
