Classic Cary Grant
Since this versatile actor, who changed his name from Archibald Leach, is my favorite actor, he gets a “classic” day all to himself.
Grant starred in comedies such as Arsenic and Old Lace and Bringing Up Baby.
His Gal Friday, “one of the fastest-talking films ever made,” is also terrific (BFI/UK).
Everyone wants to be Cary Grant. Even I want to be Cary Grant.
C. Grant
Grant played the romantic lead in such memorable films as An Affair to Remember, Penny Serenade, and I Was a Male War Bride.
Then there’s suspense: Charade and Notorious are two of my favorites in that genre. North by Northwest and To Catch a Thief are also classics.
These are a few of my favorite Cary Grant films. Do you love one I missed?
Twenty-Five Days of #BlogMas
My chosen theme for this series of blog posts is Classic of the Day. I hope you’ll join me in these days leading up to one of our most cherished–and classic–holidays.
I love all things Cary Grant!
He’s the best! Can you pick one favorite movie? It’s hard for me–always a toss-up between Notorious and Charade and then I’ll think of another I love. (Trivia: Ian Devlin from Where Treasure Hides got his last name from Cary Grant’s character in Notorious. Bonus Trivia: Grant’s character is only known as Devlin in that movie.)
Cary Grant is the epitome of classic!! My favorite, too!!
What’s your favorite of his movies? (See my response to Patricia Bradley!)
