Classic Movie ~ Gaslight
Choosing my favorite classic movie is much harder than choosing my favorite classic novel.
Should I pick Gone with the Wind? Casablanca? One.of my Cary Grant faves?
After giving it a bit of thought–and paying attention to which thoughts made my heart jump–I chose Gaslight starring Joseph Cotten and Ingrid Bergman.
Bergman won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Charles Boyer was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Angela Lansbury was nominated as Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
The movie, a psychological thriller that sparked the phrase “to gaslight” someone, rates a 7.8 on IMDB. But it’s a solid 10 for me!
What classic movie has you reaching for the popcorn and a cozy afghan on a rainy day?
