Classic Comfort Food ~ Memphis Biker Chili
I realize not everyone is going to agree on this one. And even if chili is your classic comfort food, you probably have your own favorite recipe. Perhaps it’s even been passed down through the family.
Our favorite, which we first concocted only a couple of years ago, is based on a motorcycle-ridin’ friend’s award-winning recipe. The hero for one of my novels, What Hope Remembers, made chili for the heroine on a rain-drenching day.
So my sister–the culinary genius–made the chili, too (with just a bit of help from me–the culinary dunce).
Here’s a link to the recipe for those interested in a hearty new take on this classic comfort food: Memphis Biker Chili
Twenty-Five Days of #BlogMas
My chosen theme for this series of blog posts is Classic of the Day. I hope you’ll join me in these days leading up to one of our most cherished–and classic–holidays.
If you’d set this series up two years ago, I would have said my favorite classic food was tomato soup with toasted cheese sandwich … or maybe peanut butter, and jelly with a tall glass of cold milk, depending on the time of year. But now that I’ve been in the South, I gotta choose biscuits and gravy.
How’s that for a turn-around? = 😀
I love your turn-around! Though I don’t love biscuits and gravy. LOL!
