Classic Suspense ~ Psycho
Alfred Hitchcock’s infamous Psycho isn’t my favorite suspense movie–I’m still trying to decide what I would choose–but it’s definitely a classic.
Plus, my daughter, Jillian, called me a couple of nights ago to say she had recently watched the film for the first time after seeing a documentary about it.
That led us to remembering the first time we watched Rear Window, another Hitchcock classic starring Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly. Alone at home one dark and lonely night, we sat together on an ottoman scared to death.
Why?!
Whenever we’ve watched the movie since then, we’ve laughed at how silly we were. (Though the fright was real!)
What’s your favorite classic suspense movie? Maybe you’ll help me decide on mine!
Twenty-Five Days of #BlogMas
My chosen theme for this series of blog posts is Classic of the Day. I hope you’ll join me in these days leading up to one of our most cherished–and classic–holidays.
Well now, Johnnie. You’ve finally hit a category I don’t dabble in all that much. I suppose if Sir Arthur Conan Doyle or James Patterson fit here, I’d go with either one. You decide. 🙂
Um, maybe James Patterson more than Sir ACD. The Holmes stories, to me, are more mysteries than suspense since we’re rarely (if ever) in the victim’s POV. But I haven’t read much Patterson. How about David Baldacci? Do you read his books?
One of my very favorite suspense movies is “Rebecca.” It has romance AND suspense, which I love! Mrs. Danvers is just too creepy for words! LOL
Oh, yes! I didn’t even think about Rebecca, but it’s delightfully scary. I read the book ages ago. Now I want to read it again!
I loved Psycho!!! May have had something to do with the good-looking date I was with…
LOL! That’s great!
For me, it is a 3-way tie between “Spellbound”, “Marnie” and “Charade”. All of them are Hitchcock movies. You can’t beat the leading men: Gregory Peck, Sean Connery, and Cary Grant. Lots of suspense but some romance. I have watched them over and over again.
Hi, Sue! So glad you joined me here. I love your choices of Hitchcock movies AND leading men!
