Melissa Kosci and Mike Nappa are the co-authors of A Dream Within a Dream, the third book in Mike’s acclaimed Coffey and Hill Series. The titles for each novel are inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and one of the protagonists, Trudi Hill, is an avid Poe fan.
The story also centers on the infamous Gardner Museum Heist. Over thirty years ago, two thieves, disguised as police officers, handcuffed the museum guards and stole several paintings from the museum. The paintings have never been recovered even though a multi-million dollar reward has been offered.

About the Story
Trudi Coffey only realizes that she hasn’t seen Samuel Hill in weeks when the FBI shows up asking questions about him. After a strange encounter with an armed man demanding her help and an attack by a member of the Boston mob looking for someone named Dream, Trudi manages to find Samuel–or rather, he finds her. He’s made some pretty powerful enemies, but right now his full attention is on protecting Dream from the mob. Because Dream has something they want–the map to the location of artwork stolen from the Gardener Museum during the infamous 1990 heist.
With danger closing in from all sides, Trudi and Samuel will have to call on all of their allies to keep Dream safe and discover the identity of the people who have been hunting down Samuel. The real questions are whom can they trust? And who will make it out of this thing alive?

Can’t wait to read the new book!
Hi, Carrie. I truly enjoyed this story. Lots of twists and turns and one particularly fascinating character! Thanks for participating in the giveaway.
This novel sounds like a page-turner. I don’t have a favorite piece of art.
Hey, Caryl! It definitely is a page-turner! It’s hard for me to pick a favorite, too. There are so many pieces I’m drawn to. Though one of my current favorites is a lovely 5×7 print by Canadian artist Maud Lewis. I have it framed on my desk. The title of the piece isn’t listed on the card but it’s of tulips in front of windows and the colors are reds, oranges, and golds. Beautiful, especially for fall!
I love Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. Ansel Adams has some of the most beautiful photos. It is breathtaking and sometimes scary.

Hi, Sonnetta. That’s one of my favorites, too. Though I’m also a big fan of Vermeer. I find it fascinating that we have so few of his works even though he was such a gifted artist. Thanks for stopping by!
Book looks and sounds likes a great read. Would love to read and review the book(s) in print format.
My favorite painting is: Flag Raising at Iwo Jima My favorite Painter: Joe Rosenthal.
Link to see this original painting: https://targetofopportunity.com/flag_raising.htm
This is a very moving painting and it shows are American Flag can make it through anything no matter what and there is always hope. I’ve love painting ever since I saw it for the first time. Yes it brings tears to my eyes but not because the flag is being raised among rubble but because of our bravery of our wonderful soldiers who fought for the freedom. This page shows the story of Iwo Jima raising the flag the first time and the story of the raising the flag second time. The painting I’m talking about is the flag raising at Iwo Jima the real story.
Hope I Win.
Thanks
Oh, Crystal! I felt a little weepy just reading your comment! Thanks for sharing the reason why you love this painting so much and also the link. Sending you a hug!
Sounds very interesting. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
Hi, Lucy! I really enjoyed the story. Lots of twists and turns!
I love Thomas Kinkade’s work! So beautiful. https://thomaskinkade.com/
Hi, Robin! While I was on a cruise a couple of years ago, I attended a lecture on Kinkade and his life and his work–so fascinating! They displayed one that includes a few famous people but I don’t remember the name of it. Seems like it’s a small town with folks gathering on the sidewalk on a cold day. I loved it!
Wow! Very cool!
No favorite artist but do enjoy landscape paintings and paintings from the Impressionist era.
I like impressionist art, too. Monet is a definite favorite! Thanks for stopping by!
I need variety in my reading. This sounds like it will fit the bill.
Hi, Anne-Marie. I like variety, too! That’s why I’m usually reading a classic along with any recently written novels. So many genres–so little time!!! Thanks for participating in the giveaway!
I need variety in my reading. This sounds like it will fit the bill.
Monet is my favorite artist. Sounds like a book I would enjoy reading.
Monet is one of my favorites, too, Dianne! Thanks for participating in the giveaway!
Wow…favorite artist? I did get to see Van Gogh at the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco when I was a young teen…still remember his sunflowers!!

(couldn’t get the image to post….)
Hi, Connie. I got to see his sunflowers at an exhibit in NYC a few years ago. So amazing to see them in real life. Thanks for sharing the link, too!
One of my favorites is The Starry Night by Van Gogh. https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/the-starry-night/bgEuwDxel93-Pg?hl=en&ms=%7B%22x%22%3A0.5%2C%22y%22%3A0.5%2C%22z%22%3A9.478446669454906%2C%22size%22%3A%7B%22width%22%3A1.9629577605214144%2C%22height%22%3A1.2374999999999996%7D%7D
Hi, Lisa! That’s such a popular one–and for good reason! So glad you shared the link! Thanks!
Wow! I have to say, I really don’t have a favorite painting. I love lighthouses, so any painting with a lighthouse, and also the Highwayman paintings. I happen to have a small one of those, and I have numerous lighthouse paintings. I have quite a few Thomas Kincaid small prints, too.
Hi, Trudy. I love that you brought up the Highwaymen–and I’m a little jealous you have one! I first came across their story when I lived in Florida. So fascinating. And yes, lighthouses and Thomas Kincaid are popular choices. In an above comment, I wrote about attending a lecture on Kincaid while on a cruise ship. Very fascinating!
I like Thomas Kincaid’s paintings as well as Norman Rockwell’s
Two great choices, Sheila! I think it’s so interesting how their works are so definitively theirs. You see a Kincaid or a Rockwell and you immediately recognize it as such. Glad you stopped by!
Monet is my favorite painter. I about love his paintings! Thanks so much for the chance to win!
Hi, Faith. Monet is one of my favorites, too–and a favorite of a few others in this thread! Always great to hear from you!
I don’t have a favorite painter. There are so many good ones and not all are famous, yet.
Hi, Debi. You are so right about many good painters not being famous yet. And perhaps they never will be. Yet they bring joy to their fans and that’s a blessing. So glad you stopped by!
I so enjoy a good suspense story. A Dream Within A Dream sounds like a book I would really enjoy reading.
In answer to your question, a painting I have always liked since I was a little girl is
Two Sisters (On the Terrace) Date: 1881 Artist: Pierre-Auguste Renoir
French, 1841-1919
I tried to copy and paste a picture of it, but I couldn’t get it to download.
Hi, Alison. I did a search for it–and immediately recognized it. That’s a lovely painting. I’m not sure I ever knew the name of it though. Great choice!
Van Gough is my favorite artist!
Hi, Danielle! He is definitely a renowned artist. I watched a documentary on him once that was just fascinating. His wife was very instrumental in ensuring his popularity after his death. Glad you stopped by!
I’m not very knowledgeable about fine art but I do love the paintings of Thomas Kinkade, especially his Christmas and winter scenes. There is a painting called Christmas Blessings that depicts an idea Christmas to me. Snow on the ground, a big house with candles in the windows and snow coming out of the chimney, and a snowman in the yard!

Hey, Connie! I think I saw that painting when my sister and I took a cruise a couple of years ago. As I said in a previous comment, the cruise ship offered a lecture on Kinkade that was absolutely fascinating. The painting was available for auction but way above my budget. I loved it though and would have bought it if I could!
This sounds like a really good book. I enjoy heist movies, so I’m sure I’d enjoy this book too. There are so many beautiful art paintings I’m not sure I could name a favorite of mine. Thank you for the chance to win this book!
Hi, Megan! It really is a good story and I’m glad to have the chance to share it. Thanks for participating in the giveaway!
This sounds so good. My favorite artist is Monet. I like some of the water lilies and especially like the bridge at Giverny.
Hi, Paula! I love both of those paintings, too. Monet is a definite fave! Glad to see you here!
