About the Story
Home should be the place you run to for shelter from the world, but what if the family members who should love and protect you are the ones who have hurt you the most?
When trust is shattered between brothers and sisters, parents and children, or husbands and wives, will God bless their tentative steps back to each other by healing and restoring the most important relationships in their lives?

Hubs will take us for drives in our old convertible & some drive thru ice cream may be involved. Other than that, unless something drastically changes, we’ll have a quiet, stay at home summer.
Hi, Robin. That’s so cool you have an old convertible. Please send a photo! And enjoy that ice cream and your stay-at-home summer!
My best friend and I hope to get together, maybe go out to eat if the opportunity presents itself, visit a garden.
Hi, Roxanne. I hope you and your friend get together. My mom loved visiting gardens and I loved going with her! Thanks for stopping by!
How will I celebrate Summer? I will celebrate Summer by going on vacation with some of my family to a place called Treasure Lake and doing lots of swimming, eating out, shopping, eating lots of ice cream, going to the beach unless the governor of PA puts PA on Lock down order again. Being with family is so helpful and encouraging.
This book looks like a good read. Would love to read and review paperback/print format.
Look forward to learning more about the author and books.
Happy Independence Day!!
I live in PA.
Hi, Crystal. Sounds like you and your family are going to have a great vacation. I love the name of “Treasure Lake!” I hope you’re able to get together. Thanks for sharing!
I hope to be able to go visit my sister-in-law for a nice week long vacation before summer ends. I haven’t been able to go since this whole thing started in March! I really need my “girls” time : -)
Thank you for the giveaway to to win the book, Johnnie!
Hi, Trixi. Time with family is so important. I’m actually sitting at a small-town restaurant with both my daughters right now and it’s so great to be with them. Hope you and your sister-in-law get to take that vacation!
I will be going on several hikes this summer. I love being outdoors
Hiking sounds like a great idea, Sonnetta! I think we could all use more time outside. Except when the sun shines too harshly! LOL! So glad you stopped by.
I’m reading my way through this toasty Texas Summer.
One of my favorite things to do–if only there was more time! So many books just waiting for me….Enjoy!!!
I plan to celebrate summer by decorating summer sugar cookies with friends :)0
Amanda, that sounds like a fun idea! And a yummy one!!!! Thanks for sharing.
I have no plans other than enjoying my gardens and helping my mom. Have a blessed day. Thank you for the chance.
I’m sure your mom appreciate you very much, Lucy! A garden can be one of the best places to relax and unwind. Do you grow both flowers and veggies?
Homemade ice cream would be the perfect way to celebrate summer.
Now I want homemade ice cream! But I no longer have a freezer. Someone else and I have been writing to each other about the old-fashioned ice cream churns we remember from our childhoods. They made the best ice cream ever! Thanks for stopping by, Lisa!
I’m hoping to make a visit to Colorado just at the end of summer to Telluride, Durango, and stopping at Dodge City, Kansas on the way home. Colorado is my go-to vacationing spot. So much to see.
I have never been to Colorado, Julie, but it’s one place I long to visit. Enjoy your trip!!
My husband and I have been going for walks after dinner in lieu of going to the gym. While any trips we had planned have been canceled for now, two girlfriends and I are going to meet for lunch in a quaint small town in between our locations in Texas. Usually we have girls’ weekends a couple of times a year, but this will have to do for now. While I am working part time, I am getting in a lot of reading and loving it.
Hi, Suzanne. It sounds like you have a very pleasant summer planned. And time to read is such a precious gift! Enjoy your lunch with your friends. I love that you’re visiting a “quaint small town.” They are the best!
I don’t really know how I will celebrate summer this year. I am recovering from knee surgery and have another two months to go before I can return to work. 🙂 I may have to celebrate summer in simple ways like, coloring a summer picture, reading one of the two books I have in my TBR pile, or maybe just enjoying more fruit or ice cream than I usually do this summer.
Thanks for the chance to enter.
Oh, Diane! I hope your recovery is going well. I’ve had knee surgery and thought I’d be on crutches forever. Ice cream sounds like a great “pain reliever” to me. LOL!!! Enjoy your reading time and coloring time!
I plan to take it easy at home and read as much as possible!
Reading is a great plan! Just hope at least one of the stories you choose was written by…me! LOL!!!! Thanks for stopping by, Amelia!
I will be doing pretty much the same thing I’m doing now…reading & quilting!
Hi, Connie! So glad you stopped by. Reading and quilting both sound like great summertime activities. Enjoy!!!!
We haven’t been able to do much traveling or celebrating this summer. My husband has surgery coming up at the end of the month, and will have to see how that goes. Hopefully we can at least make a trip to the lake or down to the beach
Hi, Patty. I’m saying a prayer right now for your husband’s upcoming surgery. And also that you get to make one of those trips. Take care, and thanks for stopping by!
I am retired so much the same as any other day or season. I read a lot of Christian fiction and write reviews.
Paula, I hope you know how much your reviews are appreciated! Thank you for being such a supportive and encouraging fan of inspirational fiction!
Just enjoying the warmer weather is reason to celebrate summer plus all the beautiful flowers blooming. If I am blessed to win, i am sorry to say that I can only read print books.
I’ve been enjoying the beautiful flowers, too, Vivian. Even the different shades of “nature-green” have been uplifting to my soul. This giveaway is for a print book. And it’s a thick one, too! Thanks for stopping by!
I am hoping to get the chance to take a few ‘day trips’. Kentucky has so many great places that you can easily visit in a day and social distancing is definitely possible. I’m also reading and gardening, two things that I love!
Kentucky is a beautiful state, Connie. My son and I visited the caves there a couple years ago and enjoyed that trip so much. Enjoy your reading and gardening! Sounds so peaceful! Always glad to “see” you!
