Linda Shenton Matchett is giving away an ebook edition of Spies & Sweethearts, the first book in her Sisters in Service Series. Linda loves to write stories about “ordinary people who did extraordinary things in days gone by.”
In one of my favorite Novelists Unwind moments ever, Linda shared a notebook her parents gave her when she was eight or nine years old with instructions to write stories and amuse herself. They considered Linda an “active child”–perhaps code for mischievous?? Regardless, this was Linda’s first step on her writing journey.

About the Story
According to the OSS training manual, the life expectancy of a radio operator in Nazi-occupied France is six weeks. Partnered with one of the agency’s top spies, Gerard Lucas, newly-minted agent Emily Strealer plans to beat those odds. Then their cover is blown and all bets are off.
The border to neutral Switzerland is three hundred miles away—a long way to run with SS soldiers on their heels.
Will Emily and Gerard survive the journey?
And what about their hearts? Nothing in the manual prepared them for falling in love.

One of my favorite spies is James Bond. I love how he gets around all these bad guys and uses all these neat gadgets and his ability and ingenuity to do it.
I love books like this and would love to read and review the print format of the book.
Look forward to learning more about the author and their books.
I Hope I Win.
Hi, Crystal. Of course, I know who James Bond is, but I have never seen a James Bond movie! Crazy, isn’t it?? Even so, I think my favorite would be Sean Connery. LOL!
Audrey Hepburn
Hi, Nancy, I love that you chose Audrey Hepburn. I hadn’t thought of her, but she’s a terrific example. I have a biography of hers on my TBR shelf. One of my favorite movies is Charade with her and Cary Grant.
Krystyna Skarbek
Hi, Kathryn. I had to look up Krystyna’s name, but when I read that she was also known as Christine Granville, then I recognized her. I read several stories about her years ago when I was researching WWII spies. I’m so glad you mentioned her!
I couldn’t think of one, until I saw Crystal’s comment so I’m joining her in choosing Bond. James Bond.
Hey, Pat! He’s probably the most famous!
I can only think of Jason Bourne or of course, the obvious, James Bond.
Hi, Julie! Jason Bourne is one of my faves!! I love those movies.
I’ll go with Jason Bourne.
Hey, Paula! I just told Julie (above) that Jason Bourne is one of my faves. Those movies are among my favorites.
