About the Story
Two wrongs don’t make a right . . . except when they do.
For con artist Chaney Rose, life hasn’t been easy. In desperate need of cash, she readily agrees to find Mischief, a stolen racehorse. Hunting for clues, she breaks into the suspected horse thief’s home only to be caught—with a few pilfered items in her pockets—by the police detective who’s tailing her.
By-the-book Adam Thorne was fired from his church because of his father’s involvement with the valuable thoroughbred. In a burst of Les Miserables-inspired grace, Adam tells the detective that he gave Chaney the stolen items.
Adam wants Chaney to find his missing father. When Chaney learns that Mischief’s owner intends to kill the racehorse, she needs Adam’s help expose the cruel plan before it’s too late.
Will a con artist with a conscience and a minister without a ministry risk imprisonment to do the wrong thing for the right reason?

I love Anne, from Anne of Green Gables. My favorite!
She’s one of my favorites, too. I read all those stories about thirty years ago.
This book looks like a good read. Would love to read and review the paperback version of this book.
I love animals and horses too.
Hope to win.
Looks like a great book!
The print edition should be available soon. This is my first time to indie-publish a print book and there have been a couple of glitches. Such a learning experience! LOL!
One of my favorite characters is Francie Nolan from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I first read it when I was young and instantly connected with another book lover. Thanks for the giveaway.
I received that book for my birthday a few years ago. Definitely one of those stories that sticks with you.
Jo March in Little Women is one of my all-time favorite characters in literature.
I also love some of the classic characters such as Jo from Little Women and Anne from Anne of Green Gables. There are so many I have loved, it is hard to choose just one.
Did you ladies see the latest Little Women movie? I loved it. I agree, Linda, it’s hard to choose one favorite!
The heroine & hero in which ever book that I’m reading right then is always my favorite. 😉
Robin, this has to be the best answer ever!
I especially love Jocelyn Greens characters. Thank you for sharing. Congratulations
I haven’t read any of Jocelyn’s books so I took a moment to check out her website. Very cool!
Fantastic launch beginning! Congratulations!
I ordered on Amazon’s prelaunch. Looking forward to your book.
Thanks, Patricia. Early reviews have been so encouraging. Yay!
Jo March is my favorite 🙂
More than Anne?!?! LOL!! Did you like the latest movie?
Charlie Lionheart from Joanne Bischof’s The Lady and the Lionheart. 🙂
I haven’t read that story but the title alone sounds intriguing.
I love the young lady who is the main character in The Sisters of the Quilt by Cindy Woodsmall.
I haven’t read that story, but I know Cindy Woodsmall is a popular author. Thanks for sharing!
Can not wait to read this book! Sounds exciting!
I hope you love it!!!
I would love to add an autographed copy to my Set!
As for shopping? Anywhere but the grocery store? Barnes and Nobel would be delightful!
Keep your fingers crossed, Terresa!
One of my all time favorites is Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird. Her narration was incredible and memorable.
Great choice, Cheryl. That’s an amazing book.
I don’t think I have a favorite specific character. I do like strong female characters who have a big struggle/difficulty to overcome. I like to see how they work thru it and wonder how I’d do in a similar situation. Thank you for the opportunity.
Anne, that’s an insightful answer. What is that quote about people who read get to live a thousand lives?
This book sounds like something I’d love to read! So compelling!! ❤️❤️
Thanks, Paty. It was difficult to write in some ways, but also so much fun.
Scout from to kill a mockingbird one of favorite books and movies
I got to see To Kill a Mockingbird on the big screen several years ago. Such a great experience!
I am not sure that I can come up with a specific character. I tend to just enjoy the characters from most any book that I am currently reading! I love reading!!!! For the past 70+ years.
Robin in NC (above) said something similar–best answer of all! LOL!
I think some of my favorite characters would be those in the book , The Secret Garden, by F. Burnett. More contemporary characters might be those in Heather Day Gilbert’s trilogy of cozy detective mysteries; The Exotic Pet Sitter series. Her last one was, Birds of a Feather.
Diane!!! That is one of my favorite books ever. I haven’t read Heather’s books but the premise sounds so unique and fun.
Jane Austen’s Emma
Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors. I think my favorite character is Anne from Persuasion.
nice cover. story sounds good
I love the cover! And, of course, I think the story is a good one. LOL!
I don’t really have a favorite character, I usually love the ones in whatever book I’m reading at the time. I think redeemable characters are my favorite, those willing to be shaped & molded in their circumstances by the Lord. I also love wounded heroes, both physically and emotionally. They always dig deep in my heart. I love seeing them overcome impossible obstacles throughout the book; again with a willingness to lean on the Lord for strength.
Thank you for the giveaway chance, Johnnie! I’ve read a couple of books in the Mosaic collection and really enjoy them.
A couple of other people said the same–their favorites are in the book they’re reading. I absolutely love that answer! I appreciate what you said about redeemable characters and wounded heroes. They “dig deep in my heart,” too. Glad to have you as a Mosaic reader!
Enid Blyton’s four children from her “adeventure” series…I love children books! Thanks for the giveaway!
I meant Adventure!!!
I had to look up Enid Blyton and all I could think was–how did I miss these?! I was an avid reader growing up but somehow never came across these books. I feel like I need to go back to my childhood. LOL!
Rose from Vampire Academy. She’s awesome!
Hi, Katrina–this is a new one for me! I looked up Rose and she does sound awesome!
Thanks for the chance to win!
You’re welcome, Amelia. Glad you’re here!
I love Poppy from Jen Turano’s Diamond in the Rough. She is just so funny and I can see myself being that awkward.
I haven’t read that story–my TBR list is growing!
I have always liked Jo from Little Women because she is sassy like me.
Hi, Shelia. Jo seems to be one of the top favorites on here. She is a great character!
Sounds like a very good book thank you for the chance!
You’re welcome, Sarah. Thanks for entering!
The second Mrs. Maxim DeWinter from Rebecca.
Oh, wow! A great choice. I love that story. So eerie!
