After a couple of weeks of wintry chill and icy streets, the sun is now shining here in Tulsa. Temps have even reached the 70s! Spring is definitely on its way.
This month’s giveaway is for an autographed copy of When Valleys Bloom Again by Pat Jeanne Davis. This WWII romance was a 2020 Serious Writer Book of the Year Finalist. I’ve had the privilege of reading this novel and thoroughly enjoyed the story.
Pat’s longtime interest in the World War II era goes back to the real-life stories she heard about family members who served during the war. This is her debut inspirational novel.
THE STORY
As war approaches in 1939, Abby Stapleton’s safety is under threat. Her father, a British diplomat, insists she go back to America until the danger passes. Abby vows to return to her home in London—but where is home? With her family facing mortal danger so far away and feeling herself isolated, she finds it hard to pray or read the Bible. Did she leave God behind in war-torn London too? Then Abby becomes friendly with Jim, a gardener on her uncle’s estate.
Jim can’t get Abby out of his mind. Did she have a sweetheart in England? Was it foolish to think she’d consider him? He curses his poverty and the disgrace of his father’s desertion and drunkenness haunts him. Can he learn to believe in love for a lifetime and to hope for a happy marriage?
Abby couldn’t know the war would last a long time, nor that she would fall in love with Jim—soon to be drafted by the U.S.Army—or that she’d have to confront Henri, a rejected suitor, determined by his lies to ruin her reputation and destroy her faith in God’s providence. Will she discover the true meaning of home?

My hubby and I both enjoy WWII books. Thank you for this opportunity.
Other than stories, what has touched me are pictures. I just watched the emotion play out on the face of renowned pianist Joao Carlos Martins as he showed off the best gift he had received in decades: a new pair of bionic gloves that are letting this 79-year-old play with both hands for the first time in more than two decades.
Me and my mom video chatting now that weve taught her how. Its great i can still see her not just hear her!!
Other than stories, what has touched me are movies. Every year my husband and I view “It’s A Wonderful Life” and I still choke up over it.
Seeing how happy my niece was to blow out her candles for her 2nd birthday
Watching how all my son’s hard work pays off as he competes on his college’s track and field team.
I enjoy reading WWII novels and I’m looking forward to reading the book. The thing that touches my heart is the look of love in my cats eyes when they look at me.
How helpful and caring are my friends, relatives and neighbors.

Review was great and intriguing.
Other than a story what has touched my heart lately? The kindness and caring and helpfulness of my friends and family despite their busy schedules. Somehow, they always find time to help out in one way or another and that in itself touches my heart and makes me happy.
Hope I Win.
The thing that touched my husband and I is a young couple in a restrant we were eating ,ask us how long we have been married. I replied 50 yrs this Aug. When we went to pay for dinner, we were told the young couple who we did not even know had paid for our dinner. She gave us the receipt and it said, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ! This really touched my husband and I .
My nephews and nieces.
Music touches my heart, and today what really touched my heart was a card that I received in the mail from a friend telling me she’s still praying for me, and knows how I’m still grieving. That means sooo much!!
I love spring the best because of all the new life blooming. The different colors & kinds of flowers, trees, bushes ,etc. The air is cool & the sun in bright. What could be better…a win in your giveaway.
Some of the students I teach at Kumon Learning Center (young ones) touch my heart. One adorable little boy talked about his cute little baby. I questioned him about the name of this little baby, and he replied, “The baby is in my mommy’s tummy.” I loved that Mom and Dad were inspiring their little boy to love the new sibling even before being born.
Pictures of my niece’s dogs warms my heart.
the Baptism of my granddaughter touched my heart
Something that has touched my heart lately is how my friends pray
for each in all our situations, good and bad and how we stand with each other.
A story about a young lady who won a new car and turned around and immediately gave it to a co-worked she felt needed it more truly touched my heart.
Yesterday at church a sweet young couple announced that they are expecting twins. The joy on their faces was tangible.
What has touched my heart is spending precious time with my 4 grandchildren who give me hope and happiness.
Thank you, Johnnie, for featuring When Valleys Bloom Again on your blog. It’s my pleasure to give a print copy to a commenter. I love the question she asks here. I’m delighted to read about the heart warming experiences of others.
As a new novelist what has touched my heart since the release of my debut novel is the willingness of so many to assist me in getting the word out about the story. I have been truly overwhelmed with the generosity of well established authors like Johnnie and other readers of Christian fiction.
Thanks so much for this Chance!
Love Books Like yours, Thanks so much!
Just yesterday a young man was shopping in the same department of a home improvement store as we were. Hubs was trying to find a very specific power box thingie (that’s a technical term btw) but wasn’t having any luck. This young man not only came over to help us look, he pulled it up on his cell phone that showed 2 in stock & when we still couldn’t find it, he went & tracked down an employee for us! So very awesome!
My niece is turning 16 this year and we talked about what she wanted. It touched my heart to hear her consider the current situation and how her plans changed for what she wanted. She has such a caring heart and to see what a lovely young lady she is turning into is a testimony to God and his love for her.
A conversation between my husband and me touched my heart over the weekend. We confessed a few sins we each had to the other and shed a few tears, and we came together even closer than we’ve ever been!
The sufferings of Christians around the world. They are really being persecuted for their faith in Jesus.
Thanks for the chance to win!
