I don’t usually read Kid Lit, but when I visited my daughter’s family for the holidays, my middle grandson not only gave up his room for me but also gave me a few books to read.

While we were without power–for four very long and cold days–I read Bob.

From Goodreads: “A classic middle-grade tale of magic and friendship, about a girl who helps an old friend find home, by two New York Times–bestselling authors Wendy Mass and Rebecca Stead.”Bob is one of my grandson’s favorites, and I definitely see why. It’s clever and cute and memorable. It won the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature (2019) and was a Goodreads Choice Award Nominee for Middle Grade & Children’s (2018).

After reading Bob, I sent my granddaughters two other books written by Ms. Mass.
