Green Gables trivia: Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote Anne of Green Gables from a post office.
That’s because the home she grew up in was also the Cavendish post office. That home no longer exists.
But this modern-day post office is in a building much like Miss Montgomery’s childhood home.
The post office is right across the street from Rachel’s Italian Restaurant.
Because the tourist season had already ended, several restaurants were closed. But we had a great lunch at Rachel’s before heading to Green Gables.
Please come back tomorrow for photos from Green Gables including one of Miss Montgomery’s scrapbook and her typewriter.
Your Turn
I love taking photos of signs. They are a pictorial reminder of info I want to remember. But my sister makes good-natured fun of me. What about you? Do you take photos of signs?
I do when I want to know the info! How else am I going to remember what it said?
That’s what I say!!
Love these posts. It’s almost like I went with you!
Aw, thanks, Pat. It was such a great time.
