Melissa Kosci ~ A Dream Within a Dream

Melissa Kosci and Mike Nappa are the co-authors of A Dream Within a Dream, the third book in Mike’s Coffey and Hill Series. The titles for each novel are inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and one of the protagonists, Trudi Hill, is an avid Poe fan.

Melissa and I talk about Poe’s influence on the series, plus the infamous Gardner Museum Heist that’s central to the story. Two thieves, disguised as police officers, handcuffed the museum guards and stole several paintings from the museum in March 1990. The paintings have never been recovered even though a multi-million dollar reward has been offered.

Melissa, who also writes under the name of Melissa Koslin, shares how her experience as a 4th degree black belt and instructor in Songahm Taekwondo helps her write realistic fight scenes. We also talk about her writing journey.
